BlackBerry users have yet another reason to smile, thanks to a new Blackberry Internet Service (BIS) subscription review. Vodacom Tanzania has introduced new blackberry subscription charges which will see customers subscribe at a more affordable rate for seven days and 30days.

For seven days, customers will now subscribe for only Tsh6,000, down from the current Tsh7,000. Customers will also subscribe for Tsh17,500 for 30 days, down from the current Tsh20,000. These bundles can be accessed via *149*01#.

The BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) which is also known as ‘BlackBerry Absolute’, subscribers enjoy unlimited internet access, up to 10 email accounts, unlimited chatting on BBM (BlackBerry Messenger) and other Instant Messaging services like Windows Live Messenger, Google Talk & Yahoo! Messenger, unlimited apps from BlackBerry AppWorld and BlackBerry Shield, a back-up of personal information, such as contacts and device data.

The new BIS tariffs are expected to increase Vodacom Internet subscription, especially among the youth, who greatly use the internet to browse, stream and download.

While commenting on this latest development, Vodacom Tanzania Managing Director, Rene Meza, noted that the new tariffs will no doubt be of help to Vodacom customers, and will ease their day-to-day internet access.

“Millions of people are making use of internet in this modern life to browse, stream and download materials. It is therefore important to offer the service in reasonable rates in order to make their lives easier. The youth form a large chunk of our customers and we hope with the reduction of our Blackberry internet rates, they will continue to enjoy using the internet,” said Meza.
