Airtel give advice to Students to use technological advancement positively

Secondary school students have been urged to make better use of the technological advancement in the country for the purpose of increasing pass rate to their exams.

The allegations were made by the Airtel lake zone Business Manager, Mr. Raphaeli Daudi when he handed over computers donated by the company to students of the Kalangalala secondary school found in Geita region.

Mr. Daudi said that there has been a wave of students who use computers for immoral purposes lead to culture destruction in the society.

“Some students have been commuted use computers to learn what is wrong instead of using it to expand their understanding over different subjects. They forget that the bad uses of such devices destruct the cultural values in our society, "said Daudi.

For his part, Kalangala Secondary School Head Master, Mr. Deusdedith Omchamba noted that to bring a revolution in the education sector it is not a simple task and if schools want big results now they must use tools like computers positively not negatively.

"Computer technology is the key aspect to the growth of our students as a matter of fact they can retrieve different materials which can help them to be updated with international scholars. This will help the students get big results as the government intends,” he said.

He added that it is the responsibility of students to realize the importance of technology and use it well to develop themselves in education sector not otherwise.

Commenting on the matter, Some students at the school expressed their feelings that they feel happy for the computers and promised they will use them positively for the societal development as they were advised.

Airtel has been assisting the government by providing different facilities to different schools across the country through its project dubbed “shule yetu” as the process of boosting education sector country wide.
