January 2012

When it comes to style, travel and glamour, East Africa is home to some of the finest designers, landscapes and fashion-forward celebs  to be found anywhere in the world.

In honor of this trove of treasures, this month M-Net unveiled MASHARIKI MIX to DStv audiences.

A 30-minute weekly lifestyle series, the program spotlights great places to shop, eat and celebrate. The contemporary magazine show also profiles the must-know entertainment and social personalities in the region. From musicians and models to television divas and business icons, they’ll all be on MASHARIKI MIX!

Modern, urban and glossy, the series which checks out everything from leading fashion brands and state-of-the-art tech gadgetry to trendy hotspots and dynamic lifestyles will be hosted by fun Kenyan Big Brother star Nic Wang’ondu. At the centre of the show, Nic and the series producers will be on the lookout for the freshest trends, hottest stars, coolest accessories, hippest places, VIP parties and much, much more…

PLUS in another pioneering innovation from M-Net, DStv audiences can watch the show in TWO languages!

The English language version screens on M-Net on Thursdays (18.30 CAT) and the Kiswahili version, hosted by entertainment personality Sarah Hassan, screens on AfricaMagic Swahili on Sundays (16.30 CAT). Commenting on the new series M-Net Africa Managing Director Biola Alabi is very enthusiastic.

“Anyone who’s visited East Africa and experienced the style, energy and vibrancy of places like Nairobi, Dar es Salaam and Kampala knows that there’s so much to do, see and explore here. Visitors and locals alike have their pick of stylish night-life, trendy shopping, gorgeous resorts, brilliant eateries plus the opportunity to interact with interesting, dynamic people carving out their own success.”

She goes on to say, “It’s why visitors from across the globe travel here so often so when it came to creating a platform to showcase the region, MASHARIKI MIX was something our audiences really wanted to see and definitely a production that M-Net was passionate about creating. We’ve very pleased that the series is now on air for our audiences to enjoy!”

Fittingly the tagline for the new show says, “If it’s happening in East Africa, then it’s happening on MASHARIKI MIX.”

So make sure you don’t miss it!
