DStv YAWATOA HOFU WATEJA WAKE KUWA HUDUMA ZAKE HAZITAVURUGIKA WAKATI HUU WA KUINGIA MFUMO WA DIGITAL KUTOKA ANALOGIA.


Meneja Mahusiano wa Multichoice Tanzania Barbara Kambogi (kushoto) akizungumza na waandishi wa habari kwa niaba ya Mkurugenzi wa MultiChoice Africa kwa ukanda wa Afrika Mashariki Stephen Isaboke ambapo amesema Wateja wa huduma za Dstv nchini Tanzania wametakiwa kutokuwa na hofu ya kupata muingiliano au kukatika kwa picha katika kipindi hichi cha kutoka analogia kwenda digitali.

Barbara Kambogi amesema watanzania ambao wamejiunga na Dstv hawatahitaji kuhama kwa kuwa Dstv iko katika mfumo wa digital tangu awali.

Ameoneza kuwa Dstv imekuwa ikitoa huduma za digital televisheni kwa Tanzania kwa kipindi cha miaka 17 iliyopita, ambapo wateja wake wameweza kupata channel nyingi zaidi za kuchagua zikiwa na picha safi na sauti bora.

Kupitia vifurushi tofauti vinavyotolewa na Dstv wateja wanakuwa na maamuzi ya kuchagua kifurushi anachotaka na bei ambapo Ofa ya msimu wa Sikukuu za Krismas inaendelea pamoja na punguzo la asilimia 10 la kufanya malipo kabla ya muda uliolipia huduma kumalizika. Kwa Tanzania DStv inamkataba na Shirika la Utangazaji Tanzania (TBC) la kuichukua TBC katika DStv Platform ambapo itakuwa inaonekana bure hata kama hujalipia king'amuzi chako chaneli hiyo haikatwi.

As Tanzania moves towards a digital future and switches off its analogue signals, MultiChoice would like to assure its subscribers that through its Pay TV service, there will be no interruption during the digital migration process as DStv is already digital.

MultiChoice Africa Regional Director for East Africa, Mr Stephen Isaboke said, Tanzanians who are already subscribing to DStv  will not need to migrate.

“DStv is already digital, and as the pioneering Digital (satellite) TV offering, we have been providing digital television to Tanzanians and the rest of Africa for the past 17 years. Through our DStv offering we have been providing subscribers with more channels to choose from, better picture and sound quality plus exciting additional features like on screen TV guides. Through the different DStv bouquets, we also offer our subscribers flexibility in pricing and choice.”

In certain countries, where feasible, MultiChoice Africa has agreements with the national broadcaster to carry their channels. In Tanzania MultiChoice has an agreement with The Tanzanian Broadcasting Corporation to carry TBC on the DStv platform where it is available on Free View basis. The addition of other free to air channels on the DStv platform is dependent satellite capacity and agreements reached with the owners of the channels.

As Africa’s leading pay television company, MultiChoice Africa is constantly researching new technologies in order to keep Africa at the cutting edge of new television technology, thus allowing access to information and entertainment.

Mr Isaboke concluded by saying that. “The current switchover from analogue to digital television has brought immense opportunies and challenges. An exciting recent innovation was the launch of GOtv on the new digital terrestrial platform.”

As Africa’s first commercial operator using the most advanced DVB-T2 digital standard in the world, GOtv offers no less than 21 exciting tv channels (on one analogue frequency making it the most efficient in spectrum utilization) ranging from news, sport, entertainment and childrens programs.

The GOtv service is currently available in Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Namibia, Nigeria.  MultiChoice is currently exploring opportunities to expand the GOtv footprint to other countries, including Tanzania in the near future.
